We left Big Creek Campground and headed to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. We are staying 2 nights at Wolf Creek Government Camp just south of Whitehorse.
As we are driving near Swift River, BC, we observe smoke from a forest fire and even a helicopter taking water to help fight it. The fire “Hook Creek” was reported the evening before and its size is 100 hectares. We will be following the outcome of this forest fire since we will be back through there in August.
We went into Whitehorse, YT to dump and fill water tank, and get fuel. Then headed to the Wolf Creek Government Camp to get set up for a 2 night stay. Our site was very nice, secluded and backed up to the creek, with no other sights near by.
So far, today, July 8th has been the longest day for daylight, 18 hours and 53 minutes. So we took a walk at 11 PM. This is the view from the back of the campsite.
