Today, we are still in Haines, AK. This photo was from this morning at 7:29 AM from our campsite at Oceanside RV. Sunrise was at 4:08 AM.
Today we explored Haines and the surrounding area. Of course, you can’t go to far. We drove out Lutak Road to the Chilkoot Lake State Park. Along the way, we saw Lutak Inlet and the ferry that goes from Haines to Skagway. The water is an aqua blue.
At the very end of that road, is a waterfall.
We could not get any closer, but we were all taking pictures.
We stop at the Chilkoot Lake State Park. The Chilkoot River had fisherman in the water.
There was a warning sign for them.
Our next stop was out to Chilkoot State Park. BEWARE, the road is extremely bumpy! The park has a nice campground. We saw a porcupine.
The best part of the park was seeing Rainbow Glacier and its waterfalls.
Afterwords, we walked to the Haines Brewery for a drink.
As we walked back to the trailer, I got a photo. In the photo is Kenny, the ferry, our trailer (the one on the left) and the restaurant we had dinner at.
Dinner was at the Harbor Bar. Most of us had the halibut and chips. Kenny had a steak. On the back of the menu it talked about the history of the Harbor Bar and it’s ghost. Sorry, that photo wouldn’t load. Twice, when I put my glass down, it slid across the table. Again that video didn’t load. But when I am back home I will share those with you.
